After the development of my mobile companion app, I was asked to then create a web based version for the game, including all the same aspects and principles from the mobile app. My design process was similar to the app development, as this is something I believe worked well and matched well with the identity of the game. The design process was simple, utilise the green colour schemes ranging from darker and lighter shades. I aimed to create a responsive, functional, and engaging web page for all the users, offering them a good experience overall.
The development process throughout this and the mobile app had common factors throughout. I created wireframes and layout sketches, which helped with mapping out my ideas, benefitting the design process as I had a clear idea on how to move forward. From there. I implemented interactive elements such indication buttons and working menus, I made sure to test all these features, making sure all interactions were as smooth just like the mobile app.
Some features on the web page will appear unsimilar compared to when using the companion app, the reasoning for this is that I wanted each to have a different identity. Some differences include, using other colour pallets or the addition of different pages. On the web page, there’s a range of new pages, such as trailers, console availability and a community tab, all following a reasonable colour scheme.
For example one of my pages display game trailers, regarding a new addition or update, following the theme of the image, all include a colour pallet which is suitable and relatable to what the update is introducing.
