Self-Promotional Image Poster

Design 1

First photoshop promotional piece. Incorporating words I believe describe me well.

For my first attempt and creation of a photoshop self promotion poster, I wanted to implement a selection of phrases that I would describe me and the type of character that I portray. The selected words I had already made a note of in my note book, a reminder to myself on the possible words that could create a impressive and positive impact to the piece.

When in the design stages of my piece, the first stage consisted of designing the background, which consisted of four words, ‘Creative” “Innovative” “Optimistic” and “Competitive”. I chose these four keys words as I believe create a positive first glance and understanding of me as a person, perfect for promotion. Using these words, I have used my ability to implement these words into myself, whilst still making the four words visible and readable. The reasoning for my choice is background is due to increasing the visibility as when testing and deciding on a colour I noticed how some shades of colours such as greens and blues, caused the text to not be as noticeable and some what of a struggle to understand. I had tried a large variety of font to understand what looked good whilst fitting the size and surrounding area of the image. The font I had finally landed on was a large bold 3D type font, which the boldness adds to the personal aspect and characteristics.

Design 2

Second promotional piece. Including a range of hobbies and key characteristics.

Design 2 has a similar art style to design 1 with the text covering my face, however instead of half of my face being covered by the words and phrases, the whole photograph has been. In my opinion this is a progression on the first design, using the same skills I needed for the first, to try something new in the second.

The words and phrases I have selected to accompany the photo consist of my personality traits and hobbies. The selected personality traits such as “artistic” “committed” and “driven” are just some of the characteristics I have chosen to represent myself, creating a positive interpretation for potential employers. Other small words such as “striker” “Oasis” and “Spurs” are references to my hobbies such as sports and music. The variety of years and dates each have their own meaning, as I was born on the 23rd of April 2006, this is the inclusion for the date, month and the year placed around on my design, the other year being “2027” is a reference to the year in which I will graduate from university.
