Design 1

When planning the design of my self portrait I had created a set of notes, each with a different art style that I could potentially use when creating my final piece. For my first design I had opted to use a realistic art style which included a photo of me wearing headphones. The reasoning for including my headphones within the portrait is to display the characteristics which I myself have, and these headphones symbolises my love for both music and playing video games.
When designing and thinking about ideas that could be used within the background of the portrait, I decided to incorporate a big main factor within my life which is football. To do this, I created the outline of the Tottenham Hotspur badge. This logo can first be noticed placed on the front of my shirt, and secondly used as the background, seen in a set of boxes which fill all the background area. The portrait itself displays a simple yet affective look including a range of colours, to create a shading aspect on everything from my face, hair and clothes.

For my second self portrait, I aimed to design in the style of a cartoon, as this as one of the first ideas that I Wanted to include within my piece. To make this piece, I wanted to create my portrait, but with a black outline which was used to separate all main factors in the design as this is a main characteristic of many popular shows and designs.
The design and art style I decided on is the same type of art which can be found in the Invincible TV show, an anime show. However when making this piece I did not use any reference photos to design the main bulk of the portrait. The original outline consisted on a quick and simple sketch, which set me up to creating the whole piece. The only aspect of the designing which did not belong to me was the reoccurring symbol which can be seen making up the background of my portrait. To create this design I used pre existing photos of the wed and created the outline to match. The chosen symbol is a main factor and logo from the TV show.
